Throughout my time as a Masters of Arts in Education (MAED) student, I have had the opportunity to explore many different areas of interest that have not only been beneficial to me as a high school science teacher, but have also allowed me to continue to explore possible future careers in secondary and post-secondary education. The work I have done throughout my Masters courses can be divided into four different categories; Adult Learning, Innovation & Inquiry, Collaboration, and Technology.

  • Adult Learning includes work that focuses on cognitive development of adults and external perspectives that shape adult learning.

  • The work found in Innovation & Inquiry focuses on providing students with more hands-on and inquiry-based learning opportunities to help them thrive as scientific learners.

  • Collaboration has been key throughout my work as a MAED student.  I have been able to work with peers on a number of different projects including the website and unit plan found in this section

  • Throughout my MAED program, I have been able to integrate various modes of technology, explore effective implementation of educational technologies and reflect on its use within the classroom. The work found in Technology displays some of work I have done focused on educational technology.
